Today we’ll talk about the one and only Chanel caviar bag. By the way before we go on with the topic, do you know that there are two kinds of Chanel leather? There is Chanel caviar and Chanel lambskin.
Chanel caviar unlike the Chanel lambskin has a rough-feel to the touch. Chanel caviar appearance is very similar to the luxurious “caviar” (yes, the typically expensive salt-cured fish-eggs) with tiny dotted texture. It has the “matte” look and feel unlike the soft and shiny lambskin. It is also heavier (I think) than the lambskin.
Some women prefer Chanel caviar leather over Chanel lambskin leather because of its durable leather and is more likely to stand daily wear and tear. Chanel caviar won’t scratch easily.
The key to deciding whether to get Chanel caviar bag or Chanel lambskin bag is to know for which purpose or occasion. If you are looking for a bag to use daily, pick the Chanel caviar leather. If you are looking for something that you’ll use for special occasions then get the Chanel lambskin. Just note that Chanel lambskin needs more TLC. Chanel caviar is typically cheaper than the lambskin. Another consideration is the color of the Chanel bag you want. Each texture compliments different color leathers except for black because it works well with both leathers. The most common rule is, if you are buying a Chanel bag in light color such as white, pink, coral or taupe Chanel in caviar looks better. If it’s darker or more fierce such as red, hot pink, burgundy or plum choose Chanel in lambskin leather. Overall, nothing is better than the other. Typically it is the wallet that really decides. However, both Chanel bags are some of the most coveted bags in the world.
For any bags over $1000, I prefer to buy only from the store. No third parties or other channels. However, for some people who don’t mind and would like to save more money here are the options on eBay.
